FOP Legal Defense

FOP DC Lodge is working alongside the National FOP to provide our members with the FOP Legal Defense Plan, which is owned and operated by the National FOP. There are two plans that have been designed to protect our members according to the membership type to which the member has been designated. Active Members may apply for the 'ABC' coverage that would protect them from any criminal, administrative, and civil matters arising from their performance of duties. Associate Members may apply for the 'BC' coverage that would protect them from any criminal and civil matters arising from their performance of duties, administrative is not included.

Members can sign up individually as their is no cost difference between the group enrollment.

This in no way replaces whatever bargaining agreement you have. This is an additional means of protection for all of our Lodge members. Option 1: Register for either 'ABC' or 'BC' coverage as an Individual

You can apply and pay online at www.foplegal.com. Select Join Now, choose 'Individual Enrollment' and fill in the form, following the online instructions for payment.

Option 2: Register for either 'ABC' or 'BC' coverage under Group Rate

You must come in person to the DC Lodge Office to submit payment. The Lodge will take care of the application process. Please be prepared to pay either by cash, personal check, or credit card (credit card payments will incur an additional processing fee). Please make check payments payable to FOP DC Lodge 1, and in the memo field of the check write "FOP Legal Defense Plan". The Lodge's office is on the 1st floor at 711 4th St. NW, Washington, DC 20001.
