May 2020 DC FOP Auxiliary Report

Hello from the DC FOP Auxiliary!!

The DC FOP Auxiliary want to again say we hope that all of you are doing well during this pandemic. We continuously have seen how we have all come together to help one another and help our law enforcement families and our communities.

On April 10th, our FOP generously provided meals from Mission Barbecue to our law enforcement community. In addition to the meal, our FOP Auxiliary made up morale bags to be handed out to show our support. We have since made up more morale bags to be passed out to our law enforcement community. Both our FOP and Auxiliary feel it is very important to let them know we care and want to help in any way we can.

I personally have registered to run a virtual 5K “Never Let Them Run Alone” event organized by Utah State Auxiliary, in honor of our 2019 Heroes that paid the ultimate sacrifice. I understand you can do this run anytime between now and June 30th. I will be doing my run on Friday, May 15th at 11 am (the same time the National Law Enforcement Memorial Service would have begun).

We have now received the 2020 Police Week challenge coin our Auxiliary purchased before the pandemic started. I have posted a copy of our flyer of our coin on our DC AUX Facebook page and if anyone is interested in purchasing one, please message me. Total cost of coin is $18.00 if mailed or $10 if picked up. We continue to provide graduation cakes to the DC MPD Academy at their family day and promote our FOP and Auxiliary to the new graduates. The next DC MPD graduation is coming up in May. We hope to benefit in an increase in our Auxiliary membership by attending the family day events.

We hope everyone stays healthy and if there is anything our Auxiliary can do please let us know!!!
