Get Tagged
Maryland has made available a new license plate specifically for law enforcement personnel living in the state. If you are a member of FOP DC Lodge #1 and your car is registered in Maryland, you need to prove eligibility before obtaining the new plate. You must apply for the tag through the Lodge with the following:
- Copy of your Credentials / Agency ID
- Copy of your Driver's License
- Copy of your Insurance Card
- Copy of your current Registration card (or Temporary registration card) showing that the vehicle is registered under your name.
- $12 Application fee for each tag
Once you've met all criteria, you will be given an official approval document from FOP DC Lodge #1 to submit to the Maryland DMV with an application for the new tag (the DMV will determine your plate number.) Once you receive your new LEP tag, you will have 30 days to provide a copy of the new registration card to FOP DC Lodge #1 showing that the tag is registered under your name name or you will be flagged. In addition, you must be an FOP DC Lodge #1 member for at least 6 months and in good standing before applying for an organizational tag. There will be no exceptions.
